"Vectorizer" extension enables vectorization in real time

With the new "Vectorizer" extension for printformer, we have recently further expanded the functional scope of our Web2Print software solution and can now offer our customers in the print and media services industry additional vectorization options.
The extension to the "printformer" software, which we have appropriately named "Vectorizer", is the answer to the ever-growing demands from customers in the area of problem-free vectorization within existing or new Web2Print projects. With our new "Vectorizer", it is now very easy to generate printable data for subsequent screen or pad printing as well as for many other printing processes from data that has not yet been vectorized, such as normal JPEG files, directly in the editor and without any additional effort. The "Vectorizer" vectorizes the supplied and unprocessed image data on demand in the "printformer" and automatically reduces the colors contained there to the desired number or the number required for the printing process. This saves additional work steps and increases the efficiency of order processing.

Create vectorized print data in just a few clicks

"This process also provides our customers with the desired color tone in the correct HKS or Pantone color value with just a few clicks and saves time-consuming manual post-processing. This means that the asset used is always perfectly matched to the corresponding product, the selected supplier and the respective printing process. With the realization of this extension, we are closing an important gap in the area of integrated publishing processes and coming one step closer to our vision of an even more powerful Web2Publish software that is also able to meet future market requirements without any problems. The reactions from our customers have been consistently positive," explains our CTO Sebastian Buck. Our printformer Suite is regularly updated and partially improved in order to meet the ever-changing requirements of our customers. In today's "printformer insights", we show how the use of additional variants significantly increases the flexibility of templates. This innovation makes the creation and maintenance of products and associated product variants noticeably easier and therefore more effective. See for yourself what advantages await you with this improvement!

More flexibility with variants for templates

In the recent past, it was only possible to create individual templates for each product. If several versions of a product were required, for example with a different font color, a new template with correspondingly changed settings had to be created for each version. Especially with a large number of articles based on the same layout, which only differ in terms of color, this was an immense effort - both in terms of time and handling. Our latest innovation, "Variants", now addresses this issue and makes it easier and more flexible to provide different variations of individual products.

One template, several variants

Thanks to the new implementation of variants in template creation, you as a user can easily add additional variants to individual product templates. These variants take into account color changes both in the area and in the font and offer maximum flexibility when creating larger product quantities by linking them to the template. This allows you to create suitable color combinations of a layout in a time-saving manner, from which the customer can then easily select and order the desired product. Thanks to this new function, all changes relating to the layout of the product can be made in one central location and automatically affect all linked variants and their color specifications. The result is obvious: better handling, greater time savings and more flexibility - with the variants for templates in printformer from rissc solutions.

Our Printformer Suite undergoes regular updates and partial improvements in order to always meet the latest requirement profiles of our customers. Having already provided an overview of the improvements to the new admin area of printformer in an earlier blog post, we are now turning our attention to the closed store area and its latest optimizations. Closed stores are systems that are only accessible to a certain group of people, for example existing customers. Alternatively, products can also only be assigned to certain users or user groups. Depending on the user, the products can also differ in price. See for yourself what improvements are waiting for you here!

New design and structural improvements

In contrast to the previous version, we have given the design in the closed store a facelift, similar to the admin area. Thanks to a clearer structure of the interface, a clean design without unnecessary elements, the focus is now clearly on the product. In addition to these visual improvements, we have also made some structural adjustments. It is now possible to assign products to a specific user or user group, making the selection process more efficient. Furthermore, by using projects, designs and product configurations can now be saved with an individual project name for later retrieval in order to further minimize the time required for planning and preparation. The option of using user attributes is another of the new features. For example, business cards can be customized with the correct data without any problems and without the user having to enter any user data. It is now also possible for users to easily maintain their own addresses in the account and keep them up to date. If individualizations are canceled, the user now has access to canceled processes.

Additional shipping methods and improved order overview

Thanks to new filter functions, users now have even faster access to their previous orders and a better overview of their user account. This means that completed orders can be specifically selected and subsequently tracked. In the current version, the user can now also select different shipping methods in the shopping cart, which ensures more flexible shipping processing within the system.

The theme of the closed store can be applied to a wide variety of application areas and offers a wide range of options for giving only precisely defined target groups access to selected products or product variations.

admin area

Today we are launching our new series, "printformer insights", and taking you on a journey through our "rissc universe". Have fun reading!

During our travels through the rissc universe, we experience a wide variety of adventures. We use the technologies of the newly explored galaxies and the experience we have gained to continuously modernize our printformer suite and keep it fit for the future. Regular further development of the existing systems ensures that we are always ready to master even the most unusual tasks. In our blog section, we therefore invite you to accompany us on our latest voyages of discovery and find out more about the innovations in our printformer Suite. On one of our trips last year, we fundamentally optimized the admin area of printformer and made it fit for all upcoming projects - see for yourself!

New admin area of the printformer

It was time for a "little makeover" of our previous design. All in all, we have significantly slimmed down the somewhat outdated look of the old printformer and given it a modern and fresher look with the revised design. In addition to the visual improvements, we have also put the printformer backend on a completely new code base in order to make the entire system more performant and user-friendly in the future. Another example of this is the revised search function, with which all settings and functions can now be found more quickly and easily. In addition to this rather invisible improvement, there are also a number of more visible improvementsNew admin area of printformer

Horizontal becomes vertical - that's how you could describe the most striking visual change in the printformer admin panel. The previously horizontally positioned individual areas of the backend have therefore been moved to the left-hand side in our latest version. This creates a better overview and saves space, especially with the integration of an accordion function, i.e. expanding the individual menu items one below the other. In addition, we have also restructured the content of the menu and adapted it to current requirements, as well as reorganizing individual sections and adding to existing ones.

For example, the separation between templates and closed store products has been implemented. Due to the increasingly widespread integration of our printformer into various external systems, we have separated the previously nested management of templates from the closed store management. The resulting mixing of the two areas has thus been eliminated, flexibility has been significantly increased and template creation for external systems has been accelerated. In addition, the new direct editor access to the template makes the creation of design templates child's play for you and your customers.
